120 Guest Garden Wedding in Cheshire

A warm September light, soft pink tones, long candlelit tables and one seriously stylish couple - this private residence wedding in the Cheshire countryside was the perfect example of relaxed luxury done beautifully.

Set against the backdrop of rural Cheshire and late-summer greenery, our sailcloth marquee became the heart of a celebration designed for 120 guests, blending elegant styling with a laid-back atmosphere that carried seamlessly from day into night.

From the moment guests arrived, the setting felt incredibly personal. Hosted at the couple’s family home, the entire day had an intimate feel that simply can’t be replicated at a traditional venue. The marquee was positioned to make the most of the gardens and surrounding views, with open sides allowing the September sunshine and evening air to flow naturally through the space.

Inside, the styling centred around a soft pink colour palette layered with warm neutrals, delicate florals and candlelight. Long rustic trestle tables ran through the centre of the marquee, creating a beautifully social layout that encouraged conversation and a relaxed dining experience. Soft linen runners, blush-toned florals and elegant glassware added detail without ever feeling overdone.

At the centre of the dining space sat a beautifully styled top table, perfectly positioned beneath the sailcloth peaks. Framed with soft florals and warm lighting, it created a natural focal point whilst still feeling connected to the rest of the celebration - exactly the kind of relaxed elegance the couple had envisioned from the start.

One of the standout features of the day was the round central bar, which quickly became a real gathering point throughout the evening. Positioned beneath the highest section of the marquee, it helped create a natural flow between the dining and dancefloor spaces whilst adding a more immersive, sociable feel to the layout. As the evening lighting softened and the music picked up, the entire marquee transformed effortlessly from elegant wedding breakfast to lively evening celebration.

And of course - the couple themselves brought the whole aesthetic together perfectly. Every detail of the day reflected their personality: modern, relaxed and effortlessly elegant. The soft pink palette paired beautifully with classic black accents and timeless tailoring, creating a wedding that felt both contemporary and completely personal to them.

September weddings within our sailcloth marquees always hold a certain atmosphere. There’s a softness to the light, a warmth lingering from summer and just enough crispness in the evening air to make candlelight and festoon lighting feel incredibly atmospheric. Combined with a private residence setting, it creates a celebration that feels intimate, exclusive and truly memorable for guests.

For couples planning a marquee wedding in Cheshire, private residence celebrations offer an incredible amount of freedom when it comes to layout, styling and creating a day that feels entirely your own. From elegant trestle table dining to statement bars, soft seasonal colour palettes and relaxed luxury styling, this wedding was a perfect reminder of just how magical at-home marquee celebrations can be.
